Applications : It is a deuterium labelled version of a glucovanillin, isolated from fresh vanilla green pods and simultaneously transformed to vanillin by a combination of enzyme activities involving cell wall degradation and glucovanillin hydrolysis. It can be used as a internal reference standard to determine the authenticity of vanilla extracts by stable isotope ratio analysis and component analysis by HPLC.
